Missing-e hack!
I started to use the Missing-e hack yesterday, that in addition to providing several new functions to Tumblr, allows you to use, for example, bookmark, which is a very useful tool to improve the navigation of those who follow many users.
However, today I received a message from the Tumblr staff, showing all the defects of this hack… so bit threatening, I think! They say we lost privacy and even a few posts. Privacy that we all fear losing the approval of the SOPA. (?)
However, aware users know that many companies like Apple ”fighting” with hackers, but using them to enhance the development of programming and original applications.
Every great name of programming one day was hacker!
(See Pirates of Silicon Valley)
Example? All the major and best hacks for iPhone, downloaded from Cydia years ago, have been customized by Apple and coupled to the original system. If not for the hacks, great systems would still primary, until now. The iPhone 3G had a digital camera picture. Why couldn’t to filme with it? Well, to sell a year later, with the “great” innovation in the 3Gs: also makes movies! Cydia’s users already filming with the 3G!
The Tumblr staff’s message begins with:
While we love Encouraging developers to customize and build off our platform, the unsupportedmethods used here being wellness create Risks to your data, interferes with our Ability to Develop andscale Tumblr, and create a huge burden for our support team.
Despite my distress, I love Tumblr and I’m trusting in the veracity of the quote above and the recommendation of the Tumblr staff, as I admire their work. I will refrain from Missing-e.
And I hope to that will improve on the tools of Tumblr, which are still primary for advanced users.
Thank you.
